The Four Passions, May 21, 2012

Playlist for The Four Passions on Grow Radio, May 21, 2012.

Two rockers to start, then the incomparable Eilert Pilarm's Jailhouse Rock. Frederic Rzewski's Coming Together, requested by Matt Madden, who has given me more amazing music than anyone including my wife. I cut that track in half; i'll play the whole 20 minutes soon.

Ended with the lovely "Little Hands" by Skip Spence. Never tire of that song.

Here's Eilert, then the playlist:

The Four Passions, May 14, 2012

I raided the GrowRadio libraries today to play around and test somethings out. Played some lovely Hawaiian music, some standards (Curtis Mayfield, American Music Club), some more amazing Thai rock and roll, a recording of Basil Wolverton, and closed out with four tracks by astounding voices: Enrico Caruso, Marion Williams, Nina Hagen, Jacques Brel. The Williams and the Brel made me cry.

Grow Radio: The Four Passions

Ok internets, I'm doing a radio show, called The Four Passions and it will run on Gainesville's own Grow Radio.Org, twice a month, right after Leela's Ecstasy to Frenzy.

The Four Passions:

The four seasons, the four directions, the 7 continents, the 44 winds, the 44,000 paths, the 88 billion stars. The Four Passions dives deep into ecstasy, beauty, mystery and anything created from the gut, spirit or mind. Curiosity always in the sails. 2nd, 4th, and 5th Mondays 5-7pm

I'll be posting links, relevant clips etc here on this blog, under the tag The Four Passions.
